Course Description :

The Guidance Services are the formalized actions organized by the school to make guidance program operational and functional. Hence, this course is offered to familiarize the students with the objectives of each guidance service and the role of the guidance counselor, the support staff and other helping officials.

Lecture Unit                 :      3 Units  9 hours/week

Course Outcome          :       At the end of the course, the students should be able 

                                             to:

·         Explain the  nature and meaning of guidance , functions, area or scope  and development of guidance
·         Identify  the  stages in  the organization  and administration of guidance program
·         Identify / describe the procedures in evolving the guidance program; roles of the guidance counselor and the support staff
·         Identify  the  meaning and classifications  of guidance services
·         Identify the types of problems covered by guidance
·         Discuss guidance in group situations versus in individual situations
